Important Dates

It has been a very busy summer and there are only a few weeks left before teachers and students arrive. There have been many changes at GV and the ELC here in East Allegheny. We have many new teachers and various teachers are teaching different grade levels. Class/Teacher letters will be mailed out early next week.

Please review the events below and plan to attend as needed.

August 27, 2009 – Kindergarten Orientation

September 1, 2009 – 10:00-2:00 Green Valley Open
Green Valley will be open to students and parents to tour the building and find their classrooms.

September 2, 2009 – 6:00-7:00 New Student / Parent Orientation
If you are new to the district and would like to meet the principal and tour the building, please attend this orientation.

September 3, 2009 – 5:30-7:30 First Grade Parent/Student Meet and Greet
First Grade Parents are encouraged to come and meet their child’s teacher. During this meeting, your child’s classroom teacher will discuss with you the curriculum, basic classroom and building rules as well as answer any questions.

September 8, 2009 – FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

September 14, 2009 – 5:30-7:30 Second Grade Parent Meet and Greet
Second Grade Parents are encouraged to come and meet their child’s teacher. During this meeting, your child’s classroom teacher will discuss with you the curriculum, basic classroom and building rules as well as answer any questions. PARENTS ONLY, please make other childcare arrangements.

September 15, 2009 – 5:30-7:30 Third Grade Parent Meet and Greet
Third Grade Parents are encouraged to come and meet their child’s teacher. During this meeting, your child’s classroom teacher will discuss with you the curriculum, basic classroom and building rules as well as answer any questions. PARENTS ONLY, please make other childcare arrangements.
